Food to My Soul

"Do not work for the food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life." -John 6:27

"Let's have a food trip!" I remember saying this to my partner Doodie every time we get to have weekend break.

Food has always been a part of our enjoyment and of course, a part of our needs. It is most likely impossible to live life without even eating a single food. And I believe, this has been probably the very first reason why everybody works so hard in their lives. So that they can survive life's everyday challenges, they have to stay alive.

Yes, food nourishes your physical body with full of nutrients to keep you going. But do you feed your soul? Just like our body, our soul needs nourishment as well. And be blessed because God gave this to us for free! You don't have to be worried where to get money. You don't have to work overtime at all. You just got to BELIEVE. Believe in the power that God can give you eternal life for free. If your soul thirsts, drink the Cup of His Blood. If your soul starves, eat the Bread of Life.

You may be asking now, "Where do I find this?" My friend, you don't have to look anywhere else. It is no other than JESUS. And yes, I can humbly say He is the Food to My Soul.

“Everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." -John 6:40

Ask, Seek, and Knock

"And I tell you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." -Luke 11:9-10

This has really been one of my favorite bible verses of all time. Not just because it sounds so good and hopeful, but it has also been the very first verse to put my faith into life.

Would you believe when someone who truly loves you tells you to ask something that you badly want, and s/he will give it to you? It's probably a cliche way of showing one's love to the other. But I still do believe in it, because my life is a living proof of these words.

I remember when my daddy was still alive. He used to give me almost everything that I asked of him. And I always felt secure and confident asking something from him. But time came when my dad passed away, and so did my dreams. I felt like I lost everything in me.

One day, I asked God for peace in my heart, a right path to take, and a new life. I faithfully prayed over and over again until God finally answered me. And believe me or not, since then, God had always been granting most of my prayers. He even gave me more than I asked of Him.

If someone here on earth can grant your wishes, how much more God in Heaven, who is our Almighty Father? God just wants us to ask from Him, like a loving father to his child. So never be afraid or ashamed to ask God what you deeply desire.

God knows...
God listens...
God answers...

Just ASK, SEEK, KNOCK. . . and BELIEVE it will be given to you.

Like and Share the Good News!

"Go and take your place in the temple area, and tell the people everything about this life." -Acts 5:20

Early this morning, I had a chance to pray longer and meditate deeper than I usually do. And given this time, I had read the verse mentioned above that came from today's reading found in Didache, a daily bible reflections for Catholics. In the first reading, an angel appeared and instructed the apostles to go to the temple and share the Good News.

This scenario made me reflect on what good news I've got to share on this day. It led me to a thought that this was a perfect time to count and share God's blessings in my life. And one good thing I have to share today is my relationship with my partner, Doodie.

Today, we celebrate our 22nd month of being partners in life and in service to God. I ought to share the good news that this has been one of the irreplaceable gifts God has given me. I am proud to say that with the given months we have been together, God has always been the center of our relationship. And with those times we spent together, we have come to know more Christ in our lives and have learned to love each other more deeply.

God bonds broken ties.
God heals broken hearts.
God fixes broken lives.
God blesses the relationships of those who truly love Him.

And these are the Good News I've got to share with you today. What's yours? Start counting your blessings, and share the GOOD NEWS, too!
